This is how the eider pads its nest. The eggs lie safe and protected in this unique down bed. The duck leaves the incubation of the eggs to the down, which stores and preserves the temperature of the eggs 100% accurately. After the chicks have hatched, the "harvest time" begins. In painstaking detail, the eider down scattered by wind and weather around the nests is collected by the farmers, dried and cleaned without any chemical additives and washed again by hand in crystal clear, lime-free mountain spring water at Mühldorfer. The natural brown eider down is particularly large and yet almost weightless - one down weighs only 0.001 grams.
The countless barbs ensure that the down hangs together like a fine fleece. No filling material in the world surpasses eiderdown in softness and elasticity, breathable warmth and extreme lightness. When the eider down is processed at Mühldorfer into high-quality quilts, the hand-picked down is filled into the finest 100% cotton Mako batiste. 250 meters of this fine yarn weigh only 1 gram.
In these feel-good comforters, optimal sleeping comfort, maximum relaxation and an inimitable feeling of security are guaranteed. No freezing, no sweating. After washing with fresh spring water and drying in the air stream, the germ- and dust-free selected down is filled into the beds in the ultra-modern filling plant. Ecologically grown cotton is processed and gently refined for the blankets and pillows. This results in fabrics of incomparably soft feel and noble appearance that meet the highest environmental standards.
